The Carlight Enthusiasts Club was formed in 1990 to encourage the owners of Carlight caravans to gather socially and enjoy the spirit of caravanning and meet friends with similar interests. This is achieved by a series of rallies held during the year from Easter until late Autumn, usually about 15 annually, one of which coincides with the Factory Open Day. They are held throughout the country visiting many places of interest.

To date there are about 150 members of the club who receive a newsletter four times a year. This includes many interesting features, rally reports and technical help and tips based on the members' experience.
The club, recognised by the factory management, is run by an annually elected panel of committee members under the leadership of the club chairman.
Any owner, or potential owner, of a Carlight caravan wishing to learn more about the club and the benefits of membership can contact our Secretary Sally Warren (cecenquiries@hotmail.co.uk).
So what is special about Carlight caravans? It is the method and quality of construction that separates them from today's mass produced caravans. The timber framed body is built on a custom made galvanised chassis carried by an Alko axle. The floor is marine ply with oak stringers with insulation under, whilst the roof, front and back are glass reinforced plastic (fibre-glass). The furniture is hand made from either oak veneered ply or for older models, ply with a high quality laminate finish. This method of construction makes repairs and refurbishment simple, thus ensuring a long life. Styles have not changed much since the introduction of the "Commander" range so it is hard to tell an old van from a new one. You've tried the rest, now try a Carlight!
